This article examines how educational assessment methods need to adapt in response to widespread AI tool availability among students. It discusses the challenges traditional testing formats face when students have access to AI assistants and proposes alternative evaluation approaches that emphasize critical thinking, creativity, and skills that complement rather than compete with AI capabilities. The analysis draws on early implementations of AI-aware assessment strategies in educational institutions.

Educational institutions worldwide must redesign their assessment systems to remain valid measures of student learning in an environment where AI can complete many traditional assignments. The shift toward evaluating higher-order thinking skills and AI collaboration abilities will fundamentally reshape how academic achievement is measured and what competencies education prioritizes.
