Central serous chorioretinopathy

1 article · Medicine · Wikipedia

Central serous chorioretinopathy is a condition where fluid accumulates underneath the macula, the small central part of the retina responsible for sharp vision, causing blurred or distorted sight in the affected eye. This happens when the layer of blood vessels beneath the retina (called the choroid) leaks fluid, often triggered by stress, certain medications, or hormonal changes. Most cases resolve on their own within a few months, though some people experience recurring episodes that can affect their long-term vision.
