The Gemini program was NASA's human spaceflight initiative in the 1960s that served as the crucial stepping stone between the Mercury missions and the Apollo moon landings. During these missions, astronauts practiced essential techniques like spacewalking, rendezvous procedures, and docking two spacecraft together—skills that would later prove vital for reaching the moon.
