Hyperglycemia

1 article · Interdisciplinary · Wikipedia

Hyperglycemia is a condition where blood sugar levels become abnormally high, typically occurring when the body either cannot produce enough insulin or cannot use it effectively to regulate glucose. This happens most commonly in people with diabetes, but can also result from stress, infection, or certain medications. If left untreated, persistently high blood sugar can damage blood vessels and nerves, leading to serious health complications over time.
