Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) is a type of plastic made from long chains of ethylene molecules that are loosely packed together with many branches sticking out from the main chains. Unlike its denser cousin, high-density polyethylene, LDPE has a more open, branched structure that makes it lighter and more flexible.
