Mastitis

Mastitis is an inflammation of the breast tissue that typically occurs when bacteria enter through the nipple and cause an infection, most commonly affecting nursing mothers. The condition can result in pain, swelling, redness, and flu-like symptoms, and it develops when milk ducts become blocked or when the breast isn't emptied regularly during nursing. While mastitis is usually treatable with antibiotics and supportive care like warm compresses and continued breastfeeding, it's important to address it promptly to prevent serious complications.
