Planet

A planet is a large, round object that orbits around a star, such as our Sun, and has cleared its orbital path of other debris. Unlike stars, planets don't produce their own light but instead reflect light from nearby stars, which is why we can see them in the night sky. Our solar system has eight planets, including Earth, each with unique characteristics like size, atmosphere, and distance from the Sun.
