Psychological needs

1 article · Psychology · Wikipedia

Psychological needs are the fundamental requirements that all humans must satisfy to feel fulfilled, motivated, and mentally healthy, much like how our bodies need food and water. In scientific research, psychologists have identified several core psychological needs—such as autonomy (feeling in control of your choices), competence (feeling capable and effective), and relatedness (feeling connected to others)—that drive our behavior and well-being across different cultures and life stages. When these needs are met, people tend to be happier and more engaged, but when they're neglected, it can lead to stress, anxiety, and decreased motivation.
