Reflector

A reflector is a surface or device that bounces light, sound, or other waves back in a specific direction rather than letting them pass through or scatter randomly. In everyday life, you see reflectors in mirrors, telescope mirrors, and the reflective strips on roads and bicycles that bounce headlight beams back to drivers. Scientists and engineers use reflectors in everything from telescopes and microscopes to satellite dishes and medical ultrasound equipment to focus, redirect, or collect waves for observation and measurement.
