Star

1 article · Astronomy & Space · Wikipedia

A star is a massive ball of hot gas that shines by burning hydrogen fuel in its core through nuclear fusion, creating the light and heat we see from Earth. Stars come in many different sizes and temperatures, ranging from small, cool red dwarfs to enormous, scorching blue giants, and they can live for billions of years before eventually running out of fuel and dying. Our own Sun is a medium-sized star that provides the energy necessary for life on Earth.
