Stellar evolution

1 article · Astronomy & Space · Wikipedia

Stellar evolution is the process by which stars change and develop over their entire lifetime, from birth in clouds of gas and dust to their eventual death. As a star ages, it burns through its fuel at different rates, causing its size, temperature, brightness, and color to shift in predictable ways, much like how living organisms go through different life stages. By studying how stars evolve, astronomers can better understand the universe and even predict what will eventually happen to our own Sun.
