Uterine cancer

1 article · Medicine · Wikipedia

Uterine cancer, also called endometrial cancer, is a disease where malignant cells develop in the lining of the uterus, the organ where a fetus grows during pregnancy. The cancer typically starts when normal cells in the endometrium (the inner lining) undergo genetic changes that cause them to grow uncontrollably and form tumors. Risk factors include obesity, diabetes, and hormonal imbalances, particularly involving estrogen, and the disease is most common in postmenopausal women, though it can occur at any age.
