This study examines how parents adopt AI technologies for educational purposes, finding that competitive social pressures drive adoption more than rational cost-benefit analysis. The research demonstrates that parents may integrate new AI tools into their children's education before fully understanding the long-term consequences, primarily due to perceived competitive advantages in social contexts rather than evidence-based decision making.


The findings reveal that technology diffusion in educational settings can be driven by social dynamics rather than proven effectiveness, potentially exposing children to untested technologies. This has important implications for how educational AI tools are marketed, regulated, and evaluated before widespread adoption.
