MRI

1 article · Biology · Wikipedia

An MRI, or Magnetic Resonance Imaging, is a medical imaging technique that uses powerful magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed pictures of the inside of your body without using any radiation. When you lie inside an MRI machine, the magnetic field aligns the hydrogen atoms in your body, and radio waves are sent through, causing them to emit signals that a computer then translates into clear images of your organs, tissues, and bones. Doctors use these images to diagnose diseases, injuries, and other health conditions by seeing what's happening inside you in ways that X-rays cannot.
